Kommander Looks to Shake Up the Desktop - [KDE Dot News]

Sounds like a very cool feature.

While, I finally sat down and decided to learn how to make my own Crystal-style icons. It really wasn’t too hard once I found a Photoshop Tutorial describing the process. It wasn’t too hard to do the manipulations in The GIMP, and it was actually quite nice to get to use the 2.0.1 version of the GIMP that comes with SuSE Linux 9. The result of this learning is the Tim Ginn logo that is now the title, and the Q for my link Queen’s University (which will eventually become a link to blogging about Queen’s, once I have enough such topics to make it worth while).

Why we Should Tax Advertising

This article raises some very good points about why advertising should be taxed. I don’t agree with everything, but the idea that there is too much advertising spreading misinformation is something that I can definitely vouch for. Personally, I would prefer not having large companies trump small ones just because they have bigger advertising budgets.
